On March 1st, 2010, my friend Walter and I set off on an adventure with my Arabian horse, Sojourner. I rode Soj across America and Walter drove our little truck (with no trailer). The trip began in Los Angeles, California and successfully ended in Bath, New Hampshire 8 months and 14 days later. It was a 3,700 mile ride.

We rode in celebration of family and as an outreach to those dealing with divorce-related depression.

This ride tells a tale of love in many forms - through the people we meet along the way, our connection with the horse, with the land, and with each other.

As this blog goes on it gets more and more in depth with tons of photos and experiences. Snuggle in with a cup of tea and read this like a book. I have switched the blog around so it reads start to finish so you don't have to read backward (except the first entry).

Here is our story...

update...

9/10/10

I'll have an update soon. We have just been so busy and I think I am coming down with a little cold so I am going to try and rest a bit. We are taking tomorrow off. Soj has a little rain rot from his blankets not totally drying out when we were in so much humidity so he could use a day to let the stuff we put on him soak in. Other than that he's great though-he's full of the typical Arabian energy again and looks good.

I'll get back on here later tonight or tomorrow...

Until then...
:)

  1. Hope you got a nice long nap! That always helps stave off a cold.

Buster got rain rot just last fall. Rather unsightly, but it responded well to the spray stuff that the vet gave me to put on it.

    Rest well!

  2. I'm guessing between your mom's lasagna and my stuffed eggplant, we could put some meat on that can. Then you could do a re-shoot, with perhaps a muffin top to add a bit of reality to the jean's world. Otherwise, just stay the way you are, all 100 pounds of lean muscle and sheer determination.

    Have another piece of pie.....
