On March 1st, 2010, my friend Walter and I set off on an adventure with my Arabian horse, Sojourner. I rode Soj across America and Walter drove our little truck (with no trailer). The trip began in Los Angeles, California and successfully ended in Bath, New Hampshire 8 months and 14 days later. It was a 3,700 mile ride.

We rode in celebration of family and as an outreach to those dealing with divorce-related depression.

This ride tells a tale of love in many forms - through the people we meet along the way, our connection with the horse, with the land, and with each other.

As this blog goes on it gets more and more in depth with tons of photos and experiences. Snuggle in with a cup of tea and read this like a book. I have switched the blog around so it reads start to finish so you don't have to read backward (except the first entry).

Here is our story...

By the way. Thank you so much for your posts, Nico and Seany and Jackie and Megan and Soula and mamasita...and everyone. I read them and love them and they make me smile, but I am a little slow to respond now because I only have bits of time with the computer and I want to use it to keep telling you what's going on! I will have more time once things settle in though and we will be taking 2 days off a week so I can do internet stuff on my off day.
Tons of love and thank you so much for the support....

  5. Hey Pinsky
You have dreamt of this for so long and now it is actually happening. Keep writing about what happens and, most importantly, what you/I/we should take from those experiences. Let me know when a good time and place would be to join you "out there"!

  6. Linny (& Walter) - have a great time with your folks in Joshua Tree. Hope all is well. Just FYI, I mailed off copies of the newspaper article today to your folks. It should be waiting for them when they get home. We may have a grandbaby by the end of the weekend - woohoo! Safe journey -
