On March 1st, 2010, my friend Walter and I set off on an adventure with my Arabian horse, Sojourner. I rode Soj across America and Walter drove our little truck (with no trailer). The trip began in Los Angeles, California and successfully ended in Bath, New Hampshire 8 months and 14 days later. It was a 3,700 mile ride.
We rode in celebration of family and as an outreach to those dealing with divorce-related depression.
This ride tells a tale of love in many forms - through the people we meet along the way, our connection with the horse, with the land, and with each other.
As this blog goes on it gets more and more in depth with tons of photos and experiences. Snuggle in with a cup of tea and read this like a book. I have switched the blog around so it reads start to finish so you don't have to read backward (except the first entry).

Yay! Walter wrote on Facebook that he thought the three of you would be out of Internet range for a week or more. And, well, I guess I was starting to hyperventilate a bit. :)

heey girl, I was just watching your video that you posted a while ago from song in the quiet... Man, I love how you mount Soj bareback! Wish I could do that so any tips for a girl as stiff as me :)? Do you remember when we were riding at orca pasture if I'm right, we were riding bareback and you had to help me mount Scout... Now I lost weight so it has to be easier but I still can't do it... I will just practice a lot, this summer I will mount Scout bareback and show you the video ;) You just keep riding along. Love your stories and photo's!!! Still wishing I could ride with you ;) Awesome that you will meet your mom and Stephen soon, give them all a big hug, especially Soj, he's doing such a great job!! Love Nico
