On March 1st, 2010, my friend Walter and I set off on an adventure with my Arabian horse, Sojourner. I rode Soj across America and Walter drove our little truck (with no trailer). The trip began in Los Angeles, California and successfully ended in Bath, New Hampshire 8 months and 14 days later. It was a 3,700 mile ride.

We rode in celebration of family and as an outreach to those dealing with divorce-related depression.

This ride tells a tale of love in many forms - through the people we meet along the way, our connection with the horse, with the land, and with each other.

As this blog goes on it gets more and more in depth with tons of photos and experiences. Snuggle in with a cup of tea and read this like a book. I have switched the blog around so it reads start to finish so you don't have to read backward (except the first entry).

Here is our story...

7/24/10

We will have internet tomorrow, but as for today it is just tooooo slow. I'm lucky these pictures uploaded, but it seems that it took every ounce of internet steam that was in this area and it has now quit. I am computered out at this point after waiting for it to think for so long.

This little cat was at The Barnes Ranch where Soj stayed the night before last in Moodys. Today we are just North of Jay, OK. We have a short ride tomorrow to Grove and then we will be out of Oklahoma and into Missouri the next day!!

Right now we need to get outside for a bit. Sitting in front of a "waiting to upload" computer for too long can make a person crazy. We're going to go see if there are any pretty rivers to go to or something...

:)

  2. Cute! You need to make whatever adjustment it is that allows the photos to enlarge when we click on them, though.

Good job with the stifling heat in OK. Onto Missouri, and eventually, cooler temps! Woo! Hoo!

  4. Okay! It's fixed...it's not anything I can set, it's just my internet connection. If it doesn't download properly then they don't get big, but I try to get something up anyway.

The cell service has been so poor around here and usually I have to use the cell to pick up internet, so none of it really works.

We have it now though! It's kinda slow, but better....
